Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering of TIT (Erstwhile Polytecnic) started its journey in the year of 1958. It is one of the oldest and well-equipped Departments. Undergraduate program was introduced in the year of 2010. In the year of 2020, the Department got NBA accreditation which added a new feather in the cap of EE Department. As an outcome of this achievement, a PG course was introduced in “Power & Energy Systems” in the academic session 2021-2022. The Department boasts of its highly qualified faculties having profound experience in Academics & Research. It has well equipped laboratories such as Electrical Machines laboratory, Control System laboratory, Process Control laboratory, Power System laboratory, Electrical Engineering simulation laboratory, Power Electronics & Electrical Drives laboratory, Measurement and Instrumentation laboratory, Microprocessor laboratory and Research laboratory etc. Faculties, Students and Alumni have made significant contributions in the overall development of the Department.

The vision of the Electrical Engineering Department is to produce globally competitive and socially active engineering graduates suitable for profession, higher studies and research on the frontier areas of Electrical and allied fields so as to help the society to achieve self-sufficiency.

M2. To develop and disseminate technology to meet energy requirements for society.

M3. To develop the infrastructure for research and innovation works on the field of renewable energy for the sustainable development of the nation.
